I attend upper secondary education for adults and have received an invoice
Why have I received an invoice when I attend school?
You will not receive an invoice or interest if you receive grants or loan for full-time education. But if you switch to part-time education, you'll get an invoice. Part-time means that you do not take enough subjects/hours to be considered a full-time student.
Why do I get an invoice – I have only applied for a grant?
If you have applied for a loan that can be turned into a grant, you have a loan until this is converted into a grant after completing your education.
If you have earned income or receive money from Nav above Lånekassen's limits, the money from Lånekassen can become a loan that you must repay. This also applies to the child grant and refugee grant.
What do I do with the invoice?
Don't forget the invoice! It will be expensive. If you are unable to pay, you must log in and apply for repayment deferral. This means that you apply to defer payment, i.e. pay later. You will have to pay a fee and additional interest if you do nothing.
Here's how to apply for a deferral:
- Log in with BankID
- Go to Menu and select Postponement and interest deletion
- Go to application for deferral
You must apply before the deadline to avoid having to pay a fee, but you can also apply after the deadline.
