Parents can sign support agreements digitally

Sist oppdatert: 07.06.2018
Parents/guardians must sign the support agreement for students below the age of 18. If they create a digital mailbox (Digipost or eBoks), receiving answers and signing for grants will be faster (Digipost or e-Boks).

When the student applies for a grant from Lånekassen, the student receives an answer at Dine sider at lanekassen.no. Parents/guardians* receive the actual support agreement, which they must sign on behalf of the student, and a copy of the answer the student has received from Lånekassen.

Parents of students below the age of 18 can receive a copy of the answer electronically, and sign for the student digitally. Only one parent/guardian is required to sign.

Students below the age of 18 who also receive a loan, not just a grant, must sign the agreement along with one of the parents. In this case the agreement is sent by post to the parents. Students above the age of 18 sign the agreement themselves.

What is a digital mailbox?

A digital mailbox is a secure solution for receiving and storing important mail digitally, such as letters, health data or other sensitive information. The public sector cannot use ordinary e-mail to send such information, because it is not sufficiently secure.

Most government agencies and municipalities will soon be able to send you digital letters. Then it will be important that you have a digital mailbox. More information about digital mailbox at norge.no.

The student must use Dine sider

Lånekassen's customers, i.e. the students, will receive letters from Lånekassen sent to Dine sider at lanekassen.no. Parents receive a copy of the answer to the student, and the actual agreement that must be signed on behalf of the student. In order to receive a copy of the answer as quickly as possible, they should create a digital mailbox at norge.no so that they can read the decision and sign for the grant digitally, for example using BankID.
