Grant for course materials VG3

These rates only apply to those who take VG3 according to the curricula that applied before the Fagfornyelsen 2020.

This means that it may apply to you if you started Vg1 in the 2019–2020 school year or earlier. If you are unsure whether this applies to you, you can ask your school which curriculum you are following.

The grant for course materials is intended to cover what you need in terms of equipment for your education


NOK 1,118 if you are taking one of these education programmes:

  • specialization in general studies
  • supplementary programme for general university admissions certificate
  • media and communication
  • music, dance and drama, except programme area dance
  • service and transport, except programme area transport and logistics
  • technological and industrial production, programme area chemical processing and laboratory work
  • design, arts and crafts/media production, programme area media production

NOK 1,681 if you are taking one of these education programmes:

  • art, design and architecture
  • healthcare, childhood and youth development, including occupational therapist
  • agriculture, fishing and forestry, programme area, agriculture and general studies for university admission certification

NOK 2,710 if you are taking one of these education programmes:

  • specialization in general studies with top level sports
  • electrical engineering and computer technology
  • technological and industrial production, except programme area chemical processing and laboratory work
  • design, arts and crafts/media production, expect programme area hair dressing and media production
  • service and transport, programme area transport and logistics

NOK 4,603 if you are taking one of these education programmes:

  • restaurant- and food processing
  • music, dance and drama, programme area dance
  • building and construction
  • agriculture, fishing and forestry, except programme area agriculture and general studies for university admission certification
  • sports and physical education
  • design, arts and crafts/media production, programme area hair dressing
