About the figures

  • All the figures in the tables are maximum amounts stated in Norwegian kroner and apply to a normal teaching year.
  • The grant portion of the basic support is not decided until we have received your tax assessment from the Norwegian Tax Administration for the year before you received support.
  • The grant portion depends on you passing the exam, that you have an income and assets below the limits that have been set and that you do not live with your parents during the course of education.
  • Tuition support is paid partly as a grant and partly as a loan. The tuition support loan is not converted into a grant after you have passed the exam.
  • Travel expenses are not included in this summary. These will vary depending on where you are studying.
  • For selected educational institutions with particularly high tuition fees, a supplementary grant may be given to cover tuition fees.
  • Family support for students with children has not been included in the summary.
